Media Tracking

These sites are useful for researching and keeping track of things that you might want to see/hear/read or for logging and reviewing media that you've consumed.

Bandcamp
Where I get most of the music I listen to these days. Hopefully not ruined by the time you're reading this, after changing hands a couple times. My profile is here.

OverClocked ReMix
A huge collection of video game music arrangements. Many of them are excellent.

Remix.Kwed.Org
A fantastic collection of Commodore 64 music arrangements. See also Remix64 and C64 Audio.

Deep Dark Fears
Fran Krause illustrates fears that people send him.

Dinosaur Comics
A visually-consistent comic by Ryan North. This one is a good introduction.

Exploding Dog
Sam Brown draws pictures based on captions that people send him.

Married to the Sea
A comic by a married couple that includes the creator of Toothpaste for Dinner.

Pokey the Penguin
A comic strip about some penguins, a snowman, and other things.

Board Games

BoardGameGeek
An excellent resource for information about tabletop games. There's also a corresponding site for video games.

Board Game Arena
Play board games online with friends or strangers. The interface for most games is very good and they have a wide selection.

Video Games

GameFAQs
A huge collection of video game guides and reviews. Look at this Super Metroid guide that's monospace but perfectly justified.

Good Old Games
Old computer games re-released for modern computers, with extras. (Some new games, too.)

Home of the Underdogs
A snapshot of a fun era in indie games. Source of the Scratchware Manifesto. (Interview with the founder.)

Humble Bundle
Pay what you want for collections of (mostly independent) games, usually including Steam keys.

Hardcore Gaming 101
Good information about good and sometimes obscure games.

The Independent Gaming Source
No longer updated, but the forums still appear to be active.

itch.io
The best place I know of to find homebrew video games.

Selectbutton
Video game discussion by people who may or may not actually like video games. Spun off from Insert Credit.

Steam
A video game downloader that grew into a monster. Watch for the seasonal sales.

Warp Door
A Web log started by Tim W. and Chris Priestman, heroes of the obscure indie game scene.

Zophar's Domain
A good resource for information about computer and console emulators, and for ripped video game music files.
